About Us

Samastha Kerala Jam’eyyat ul-Ulama is an organisation of distinguished Sunni scholars devoted to protecting, preserving, and promoting traditional Islamic scholarship. Established in 1926, Samastha was created in response to emerging reformist movements that challenged long-established beliefs and practices nurtured by generations of Ulama.

For decades, Samastha has remained a respected source of religious guidance. Its foundation lies in classical Islamic learning, spiritual discipline, and the scholarly legacy passed down through institutions such as the Ponnani Makhdum tradition. Today, Samastha continues to serve as a guiding light for Muslims, offering principled leadership grounded in authentic Sunni thought.
